In a recent study of the State’s PARCC Assessment scores from the 2014-2015 school year, Steele performed in the top third of elementary schools that have the same characteristics. This is an honor that the staff and students of Steele can take great pride in. This performance happens when staff members are willing to collaborate together, and willing to challenge one another, to do what is best for student learning. The staff, over the course of the last two years, has been especially focused on going beyond the academics to insure the conditions are right for learning. This focus is paying dividends as the school plans special events for students that build a sense of community. The staff is hopeful that these events become a vital part of the routines and rituals that help to set Steele School apart from other schools.
