We kicked off the state testing assembly for the third and fourth graders this afternoon. Mrs. Coate started the assembly sharing how many points the third and fourth graders have grown on their IReady diagnostic assessments so far this year. Collectively each grade has grown over two thousand points in math and reading. Mrs. Coate shared the building incentive plan with the students that come to school on time and share how they did their best on the test (see below).
We were blessed to have Mr. Anthony Law, Coordinator for the Office of Diversity and Inclusion at Carl Sandburg College, join us as well. He pumped up the students with chants and continued the focus on "doing your best." He said everyone's best is different so when they tackle the test, just remember to give it your all! He even gave Mrs. Coate a donation for the daily incentives in the middle of the assembly! Our hearts were overjoyed with his generosity! As the students walked out of the assembly, one boy said, "I hope I can be like Mr. Law one day." We are lucky to have a village of supporters at Steele. #Thisis205 #wearesteele
